Why this is different for you
Rocket League writes the .replay file to a PC's local disk and nowhere else. Consoles have no way to export it, which is why ballchasing and the analyzers built on it are PC-only. That has nothing to do with how good you are and everything to do with a file format.

Do I need a capture card?
No. A phone pointed at your screen is enough. The clearer the shot, the more of your boost and score the coach can read.
Why can't I just upload my replay from PS5?
The file only exists inside the console's own save data and there is no supported way to get it out. Not over USB, not through the share features, not through the Rocket League app. This is a platform limitation, not a setting you missed.
Is this as accurate as the PC tools?
For exact numbers, no, and we will not pretend otherwise. A video cannot tell you your average boost was 31 or put you in a percentile. What the coach reads is about 14 still frames from your clip: where you are on the field, whether you trail the play, and how often your boost runs low. Those habits decide most games below Champion. It cannot time a challenge to the second.
